disguise.
To describe this picture I would say that the face is partially there , it looks like the face is made up of string but the nose is the only whole piece. How he arranged the visual elements within the frame is there is a semi visible body on a wooden chair, you can see the persons forearms which are hugging each other. Their torso is made up of just a blue jacket and they have no shoulders. The background is just a plain white wall but this is also benefits the photo so you can see through the face of the person sitting in the photo. I think that this image was created mostly by using an editing software such as Photoshop and he has edited a photograph, I think that the face was scribbled over and parts were erased using Photoshop. He has left parts of the image such as the nose. The light is so soft, theres not a lot of light in this photo theirs just the right amount not too little and not too much. The tone , the light all balances it out so its even. This photo belongs to the genre portraiture but its unusual since this isn't a person they aren't real, so it makes you question can it even be a portrait if it isn't a person? Lucas Blalock is creating a person by taking a picture even if they are not really there, this really shows the power of photography.
I think Lucas Blalock created this image buy using whatever came to mind but how he made the head is confusing me, it looks like its not really there as if it was edited in or drawn, He must of used random objects to create this piece because it is very unique, he has photoshopped the string face into the image. The photographer has left the whole body in the image and then removed everything other then the arms and parts of the face.
This image makes me feel sympathetic for the person in this picture although not knowing their emotions. The head has no eyes and no mouth so I wouldn't know what they are feeling but I feel pitying for them although not knowing whats wrong or even they are even feeling, the atmosphere is very bleak and dismal because of the grey imagery regardless of there being colour. The face is giving the the feelings of depression, when someone is there physically but mentally they're not , their mind is elsewhere. If I could question the photographer where did he get this idea and how did it come to him , did you have inspiration? How did you take this, what equipment did you use? Does this image reflect how you feel?
He said that he uses random objects or '' pathetic objects'' to make his work and theres humor with in. this hows that he knows how to enjoy his job and not take everything so seriously. He also saying that he's been thinking a lot lately and wants to love something and put pressure on it. It's obvious that photography is his passion , doesn't only do it for the money ect he does it because he enjoys it. You can also see his progress though out and how he found his passion and how he got better at photoshop.
