vivian maier
heres some images of Vivain Maier doing street photography .
This is my favourite image from Vivian maier
It’s really interesting since it’s hard for someone to take a picture like this, it’s creative , unique and peculiar seeing that its going to be hard to see someone moving a mirror in that position and be able to take a picture just in-time before it gets moved. her theme is black and white in all her photos which makes them contrast together.
me and my class mate walked around the class taking pictures of things with a reflection to try an remake vivian maires work but inside. we used distored mirrors to make it more originative and different backgrouds/props/resources .
today we recreated pictures from the photographer Danny Tracy by making our own masks or hats to wear having to think about what to wear or make was the hardest part but then when you got your idea it went well after that we had a range of fabric or materials to put together what we was going to make . I used clear plastic and string then tied it together into 3 sides then taped it together into a triangle shape .
I didnt dress up since I wanted to just stay as myself I wanted to keep my pictures simple and not overwhelming next time I can try something different using the studio lighting makes my pictures look more professional and more clearer my mask if very plain but it matches my clothes since im not dressing up, to make my pictures better I would dress up and have my costume match to make it look more put together and neater .

the way he’s standing is very neutral and up-straight with white studio lighting. the backdrop is black . He’s dressed up in a scary and unusual costume which makes it stands out to the rest of the photos. its like he’s wearing to different outfits on each-side of the image . the angle is very straight up and straightforward. the frame is small and fits everything in with enough background as-well. he looks quiet mysterious because you cant see his face and you dont know whos behind the mask and leaving you wondering.

this picture looks like its been taken in a studio with studio lighting, hes sitting down and posing. the frame is straight up and someone is taking a picture of him , his clothes are unusual and doesnt match with the football and the football boots makes it a bit more interesting and more fun than without it an makes u question why and whats it for. the frama matches the green and makes it stand out more. it is quite colourful and unique/different from the rest. almost looks like hes wearing a costume and looks unexpected/surprising
vivian maier.
it looks like shes taking the picture on a reflective plate at the table. Vivian is taking the picture in a subtile way as if she doesnt want anyone to see. you can see the camera so its looks like a eye perceptive like your in her shoes. the lighting is natural and is going across her face and the lines make it look more old fashioned and with the filter being black and white and her face/clothes makes it look older and simple/minimalist. the camera is straight on even though shes taking the picture from down below hiding the camera lens. its only her in the picture and you cant see anyone else and her being the center of attention and the main thing that your looking at. the background is dark and looks like its reflective off the crosses.

I cut out pictures and added them to a A4 paper in a random order . I rearranged them a couple of times until I get what I think is the best way to do it . Before I stuck them down I made final changes until I was happy then I stuck them down in the same arrangem
EBI
If I used more pictures and cut them out in more interesting artistic ways . Flattened out my pictures so there wasn't bumps and maybe did a different colour that contrasted with the pictures and to be abled to see them more .I think I overall i did well with this and I'm happy with the turnout .
is this a self-portrait?
No this isn't a self portrait there are self portraits within my collage but not the whole thing since there's pictures of objects and places with isnt of anyone .
shadow photography
Kenneth Josephson - Chicago,1980
american photographer.
the hand through the car window looks like its apart of the photo because theres a hole in the piece of paper that he's holding. it has a harsh shadow on the car, I picked this picture since its different to the others and creative. you cant see the persons face just there arm which makes it artistic and originative.its light from the sun and not studio light because its very highlighted, harsh and bright. the person thats holding the photo you can see his reflection of his hat and him against the car side. to touch would be very hot since its metal, his arm acts as a line and is dark in the background.
Narrative sequencing: lee Friedlander's shadow selfies
I told a story using many different shadow photos.
Francesca Woodman 1977
Francesca Woodman was a American photographer , she was best known for her black and white photography . most of her pictures was of her or other female models because thats how she chose to express herself.
This picture is quiet puzzling because you cant see into the room and see only two main things in the pictures, it almost looks like a mirror into somewhere else instead of a doorway. the differences between the contrast with the light and dark are quiet wide and is barely any sunlight going into the picture. the frame is just straight on and you cant see any corners of the room just the doorframe. it almosts looks like its been drawn because of the movement of the camera makes the chair look blurry. if you look at it too much you cant tell if its a mirror or a doorway from the angle the picture is being taken at. |
