Abelardo Morell - boston based photographer
Abelardo Morell does his work based on this concept called camera obscura, he teaches us about threshold concept 2 though explaining how you don't need a camera to take a picture, you can do it through other ways and thats what made it different. he captured the light through a tiny hole he put in the material he uses to block out the light. He used a cardboard box and a enlarging lens to do so. I think this is still a photographic technique since you are looking at something has been captured without actually looking at that thing. this process could be used now for people that don't want to use a camera or have one, the most interesting thing about this is how it flips the image.
For this piece there wasnt really a theme it was just however I pleased but I think these go really well together, I printed off shops in my area and cut them out and arranged it in a certain way and this is the way it turnt out
we took pictures from the well known photographer zoe leonard, we took the photos that she took of the shop fronts and cut them out into 6 pieces of different ones , we stuck it onto a cube template and heres the finished product, I like how this is a 3D picture and every side of it you look is different to the other.
